Article: Manuel Hopes to Add to Repertoire
I saw similar reports last summer, but it sounds like Jackie is making some good strides with his shot. I shoot hoops, but no where near 1,000 a day. That takes dedication. If Jackie can become more of an offensive threat this year, it could mean big things for Carolina. We are all pulling for you Jackie!
In His Own Words: Jackie Manuel
Next up in the "In His Own Words" series from tarheelblue.com is Jackie Manual. He talks about what else, defense.
Danny Green commits to UNC
Roy is racking up quite a 2005 class. Tonight, Danny Green, 6-5, 200 pound swingman from New York picked Carolina over Pittsburgh and St. John's. Green has largely flown under the recruiting radar, but he earned co-MVP honors at this summer's ABCD Camp.
Here are some quotes and photos from the press conference.
McCants on 2005 ACC Handbook Cover
Rashad McCants is the on the cover of the 2005 ACC Handbook and was chosen as the Handbook's Preseason Player of the Year! They ranked Carolina as 7th in their preseason poll. Here is a shot of the cover:
In His Own Words: Sean May
The junior big man discusses his international basketball experience over the summer.
May named Preseason All-American
I'm a little surprised that Sean May was named Preseason All-American by Playboy. He had a decent year last year, but I think most people would agree that it was below expectations (which may have not been realistic to begin with). Let's hope he comes out swinging this year. He unquestionably has the talent, he just needs to be more assertive on the court. From what I gather from his work on the USA team this summer, he is making good progress.
They also have Julius Hodge in the top 10. Come on, how much longer will McCants continue to be overshadowed by that backyard street baller?? Even though McCants had his share of issues last year, he led the ACC in scoring (which was no small feat) and helped lead UNC to two victories over NCSU. Yet Hodge gets the ACC POY award last year. Well I'd take McCants anyday on the playground (actually I play at the YMCA in Raleigh)...

Here is a short article on Felton and some of his thoughts leading into the season.
InsideCarolina.com: Preseason Hoops Outlook

Oh yeah!
Carolina offers Gerald Henderson a scholarship
InsideCarolina.com is reporting that UNC offered 6'5'' junior shooting guard Gerald Henderson from Pennsylvania a scholarship this weekend.
Roy and company aren't wasting any time making offers to underclassmen. With the state of college basketball recruiting these days, I guess that comes with the territory.
Jawad Williams Interview
Jawad Williams pontificates on his final season in Chapel Hill. He also tells the story of how Antawn Jamison found out about his recent trade from seeing it on TV.
Jawad said he's been working out hard during the off-season. Maybe he'll have a breakout year like he started to have at the beginning of last season.
Roy offers Eric Wallace a scholarship
Roy Williams offered in-state sophomore Eric Wallace a scholarship during his visit to Chapel Hill this weekend. Wallace is a strong forward from Kernersville and is rated 9th among sophmores by TheInsiders.com.
Article: Bohlander's decision was no surprise
At least according to Coach Williams, Bohlander's decision not to come back to the team was no surprise.
Article: Williams Gets Full Athens Experience
In this article Roy talks about his Olympic experience.
Here is a picture from the article worth framing:
CJ Miles no longer considering UNC
InsideCarolina.com is reporting that CJ Miles, one of the top swingmen in the class of 2005, has dropped UNC from his radar. Looks like his visit to Kansas went really well. This sucks, I was initially hoping we'd get at least Miles or Rogers or maybe both, but now we aren't getting either. I'll still hold my hopes out for Hendrix!
