Samba 3: The first 180 days 

This is an interesting interview with one of the Samba co-founders. Here is one of the quotes that caught my eye: "I am guessing that two-thirds of the Solaris projects are integrating into Active Directory frameworks". He also says that a lot of people are asking, "How do I get my LDAP back end to work [with Samba]?"

I just downloaded this new tool and have been reviewing the output. It installs as a service and writes log files to C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\PortReporter. Most of the information you can get already using the latest version of netstat in Windows Server 2003 and the Sysinternals TCPView tool. But it would be useful if you want to monitor port usage over a period of time. CAUTION: the log files grow pretty quickly so make sure you have ample space before leaving it turned on for an extended period.
